Jospeph Sudek was a Czech photographer, primarily known for his work capturing the streets and moods of Praha, or Prague. Naturally gifted at photography, Sudek developed his style into something more. Although, he only had one arm, Sudek managed to masterfully create photos that are still remembered today. During his time as a photographer, Sudek founded the Czech Photographic Society. His photographs usually feature inanimate objects against contrasting backgrounds. The pictures that Sudek took, were often black-and-white pictures.  Here, I along with my other group members have featured photographs that very judiciously represent Sudek's style of Photography.

2nd Portrait

This picture was edited using Camera Raw. I edited the photo by increasing saturation and temperature, as well as increasing the amount of shadow in the picture.

Composition Review: Three Rules

Before

After
This cropped portion depicts my rule, framing. This picture is framed in such a way that the foreground and the background are both visible.

It also depicts the rule of leaving space. The negative space in the picture enhances the contours of the sculpted horse, seen in the top left corner.

And lastly, it depicts the rule of lines. We can see that the unfocused red object is defined by four distinct lines that catch our attention and indeed define the object.

This picture  depicts all three of my rules: Rule of Lines and Shadow, Rule of Framing, and the Rule of Leaving space.

Where I found my rules:

1. Rule of Lines and Shadow

2. Rule of Framing

3. Rule of Leaving Space

Depth Of Field rule

To take this picture according to the depth of field rule, I zeroed in on focusing on the dye, and not the surrounding background of the dye itself. The location of this picture, is the A- Wing courtyard, outside of the A-wing Cafeteria. The light there was particularly good.

Third Photo Assignment- My Third rule, leaving space

The rule of composition I used for my third picture, is Leaving Space. In the rule of leaving space, most of the picture is occupied by a certain subject or object, and a little bit of extra space is left in the picture for contrast.

My three rules of composition:
1. Rule of Lines and Shadows
2. Rule of Framing
3. Leaving Space
